FAQs

Michigan RV FlexArmor LLC

  • What is the maintenance on a FlexArmor roof?

FlexArmor roofs require no specialized maintenance to maintain your RV's condition or uphold the warranty. There's no need for caulking, special cleaners, or conditioners on the FlexArmor RV roof system.
  • How long will my RV be in your shop while it's getting a new roof?

The installation process for a new roof typically takes about 2.5 days, assuming no additional RV repairs or work are needed.
  • Does FlexArmor come with a warranty?

FlexArmor is backed by a lifetime, transferable warranty for your peace of mind.
  • How do I clean a FlexArmor RV roof?

FlexArmor roofs can be cleaned with any standard household cleaner. The material's high chemical resistance makes it impervious to cleaners and bleach. Its non-porous nature resists stains and mildew, and most everyday dirt is washed away by rain.
  • Do I need to caulk around my fixtures?

Caulking is not necessary with the FlexArmor system. Our chemical bond eliminates the need for caulking by removing all exposed screws and joints in the RV roof.
  • Is this roof a bedliner? Rhino? Linex?

FlexArmor is not a bedliner or similar product. It's a pure polyurea system with a proprietary process designed specifically for RVs. Unlike hybrid products such as bedliners, Rhino, or Linex, FlexArmor's pure polyurea composition ensures superior temperature resistance, consistent curing, flexibility, and UV protection.
  • What is the difference between your roof system and ones that are done onsite?

FlexArmor is applied exclusively in a controlled indoor environment by specially-trained professionals using specialized equipment. This approach allows for the safe removal and protection of important components like AC units and vent lids, and eliminates risks associated with outdoor application such as weather damage or overspray.
  • What if I have to replace anything on my roof?

During installation, we replace all vent pipes, lids, refrigerator bases, and install new Camco vent covers and AC gaskets. These components are sealed under the coating for longevity. Future additions or replacements can be accommodated by cutting through the coating, installing the new component, and respraying the affected area at an approved FlexArmor facility.
  • How does this compare to other RV roof coatings and RV roof sealants in strength, flexibility and thickness?

FlexArmor offers superior performance with over 600% elongation for extreme flexibility, a tear strength exceeding 3500 psi for puncture resistance, and a thickness of 187 mils (3/16 inch). These properties allow it to withstand RV movement and temperature changes effectively.
  • Will my FlexArmor roof be completely smooth? Will there be pitting that I have to keep an eye on?

The final texture of a FlexArmor roof can vary based on the substrate and roof components. While we strive for a smooth finish, some slight texture is normal. Any apparent 'pitting' is superficial and does not affect the roof's performance or durability. The texture is typically no more pronounced than that of fiberglass roofs and does not collect debris or dirt.
